Graphite pencil and spray paint
214cm x 54cm.

Commissioned artwork for a surfer’s favorite winter board. My brief was, “…create something dreamy, but threatening (and maybe some tentacles)…” Must be fully functional, waterproofed and hardwearing.

I was left to my own devises with this one and decided to do a mysterious creature based upon a crocodile. I think this has to be my favorite board so far. It was fun to do and I really enjoyed applying the sprayed paint background, which consists of about five different colours that were sanded smooth between each layer. The croc was drawn on with graphite pencil and then sealed with layers of lacquer.
